Cantab.net Website Changes

As we announced last year, we have been working on a new 'framework' that underpins the Cantab.net service. We now have a date to start the upgrade, which is Monday 16th April.

Please see our original announcement for a list of changes to expect.

Nothing will change regarding the method used to log in to your webmail account - you still come to Cantab.net and log in to gain access to your webmail in the same way as before.

The changes at this stage concern the management of your account (such as changing password, managing subscriptions, spam settings, etc.). Our new webmail interface will be coming later in the year.

The upgrade will take place in 2* stages.

Stage 1 - Done

On Monday 16th April, the website changed slightly to the current version you see now. Whilst the design remains mostly the same there are a few minor cosmetic tweaks.

Stage 2 - In Progress

Stage 2 has now commenced and we have started migrating all existing accounts to the new account management interface. This process will occur slowly in the background and may cause a temporary (less than 30 seconds) loss of access to your account as we move you over. Your email is not moving or changing, only account management (My Account) is being moved. Any email inbound at that time will continue to be delivered as normal.

There may be a rare occurance that a quick login code assigned to your account will be no longer available. Should this occur after your account has been migrated, you will need to login using your email address as your username and review your 'Quick Login Codes' within 'My Account'.

This stage is likely to take 1-2 weeks to complete, so don't worry if you don't see the new My Account interface straight away.

* This notice was originally posted with a stage 3, which is no longer scheduled at the current time.
